FERRELL-ROSS PIN FEEDER
The Ferrell-Ross pin feeder option is commonly used for feeding sticky products into a mill. It is also used for feeding steamed grain into a flaking mill. The pin feeder is similar to a roll feeder. Instead of using a corrugated roll to feed the material into the mill, it uses a rotating shaft with metal fingers. The pin feeder is typically installed to break up clumps. The pin feeder then pushes the material over a lip in a constant free flowing manner and on the rolls below. The speed of this shaft is controlled by a SCR variable speed control.
